Bar incident lands man in jail
LAVA HOT SPRINGS -- A local man was arrested early Sunday morning by Bannock County Sheriff's deputies and charged with seven misdemeanors after allegedly allowing his pit bull to attack patrons of a local bar and leaving the scene before police could arrive.
Bradley Maxwell, 34, was charged with disturbing the peace, resisting and obstructing, driving without privileges, driving under the influence, assault on an officer, failure to display proof of insurance and eluding police, all misdemeanors. He also had misdemeanor warrants, each charging him with a probation violation. According to the Bannock County Sheriff's Office, Maxwell was escorted from the Blue Moon Bar in Lava Hot Springs by several of the bar's patrons who allege he allowed his pit bull dog to attack them. A report from the sheriff's office said Maxwell left the area before police could arrive and was later located driving on Blazer Highway and led police on a three-mile pursuit before he stopped.
