Draper temple tours slated
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The doors of the new Mormon temple in Draper aren't open yet, but its reservation desk is.
Public tours of the temple start Jan. 15. Organizers will begin accepting tour reservations Monday at 10 a.m. either online or by telephone. The Draper facility is the twelfth temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be built in Utah. It's the church's 129th temple worldwide. The temple, which will served about 60,000 church members, closes to the public after dedication ceremonies in March.
Temples are considered sacred to Latter-day Saints, who use the buildings to perform religious rituals including proxy baptisms and marriage ceremonies knows as sealings.
