Local trails closed for season
POCATELLO -- Seasonal trail closings have gone into effect for motorized trails in the Pocatello and Soda Springs areas, the Bureau of Land Management in Pocatello and the Caribou-Targhee National Forest announce.

The Blackrock and Chinese Peak trail system is closed to motor and mechanical travel Nov. 15 to April 15. The Pocatello west bench and Soda Hills are closed to motorized travel Nov. 16 to May 15.

The Forest Service is closing these roads Nov. 15 to May 15: East and South Mink, Inland, Pebble, Toponce and Elk Meadow. Soda Hills upper gates close Nov. 16. Idaho Ranch Canyon and Swenson Canyon will close Jan. 1, 2009.
If a particular road or trail does not have a gate, the area is still closed.
