Man plans to use wind power
REXBURG, Idaho (AP) -- A southern Idaho man plans to install a wind turbine at his home in Fremont County and use blustery weather conditions to generate a bulk of his power.

Paul Mortensen applied in September for a permit to build the turbine, which will measure about 33 feet high. The turbine will be able to use winds moving as slow as 8 mph to generate power for the home.

Mortensen says he'll still purchase power from a local utility company when wind conditions aren't enough to power his home in Salem, about five miles north of Rexburg.
Mortensen hopes to shave at least $100 off his utility bill, which is now about $150 to $160 a month.
