Triad Resorts plans unchanged

MONTPELIER -- Plans for a manufacturing plant that will produce prefabricated motel rooms will move forward despite the recent death of the company's owner, according to a corporate press release. Jerry Ward, principal owner of Triad Resorts, died in Salt Lake City on Sept. 13 from complications of heart surgery, according to the company's Web site. Chief Executive Officer Hari Ghadia said in a press release that there will be no slowdowns or cancellation of any Triad projects.
Ghadia described Ward as a visionary who promoted energy-saving, eco-friendly projects during a period of high-energy consumption. Seattle-based Triad Resorts plans to open the plant next March.
The plant, located in the Montpelier Industrial Park, will produce fully constructed motel rooms on site that will be linked together elsewhere to form complete "green" motels. Moteri Management Co., a motel management and ownership company also based in Seattle, signed on as a partner in the project and agreed to buy one motel room -- complete with a bathroom and desk -- per month throughout the next decade.
The partnership will advance Moteri's plans to open a "green" motel chain. The Montpelier plant will also build walls, frames, siding and other components needed to assemble a $100 million "green" casino planned in Jackpot, Nev.
Spanish Bit Casino and Resort will also be owned and operated by Triad. By Debbie Bryce
