Holt starts new parking fees
POCATELLO -- Idaho State University's new parking fee policy for Holt Arena events will be in effect for the Idaho State football game Thursday and for the Montgomery Gentry concert Sunday.

The new Holt Arena parking prices for non-ISU students are $1 for ISU athletic events and $5 for special events, such as concerts. ISU students who present valid Bengal ID cards still park for free.

Parking fees will be collected at all home football, basketball and other athletic events and special events held at Holt Arena.
Parking fees will be collected approximately two hours before the start of an event.

"We're trying to generate additional revenue to help offset increased operating costs and hopefully to raise additional revenue that will be used towards upgrading and renovating Holt Arena," said George Casper, ISU director of events.

" Shouldn't they add the fee to the ticket price on the events rather stand in the parking lot and collect money. This may cause more patrons to park in other locations and walk to the Holt just to avoid the parking fees. They had better consider this also "

" Because of bad hiring decisions it now costs much more to run the Holt. Holt management should move on and give someone else a chance run the building. Do Pocatello a solid and follow Connie Bowen out of here. "
