Patriot Day celebration 9/11
POCATELLO — The Patriot Day parade honoring POW*MIAs will begin at 5:30 p.m. today at the Southeast Idaho Veterans Memorial on South Fourth Avenue, then travel down South Fifth Avenue and end on Center Street in front of the Bannock County courthouse.

On Nov. 11, 2003, then-Gov. Dirk Kempthorne signed an executive order to fly the POW*MIA flag under the United States flag over the State Capitol on specified days.

On Oct. 24, 2007, Gov. Butch Otter ordered the POW*MIA flag to be flown over all state buildings 365 days of year or until all unaccounted for and missing members of the Armed Forces are returned.
The public is invited to join county commissioners today in raising the POW*MIA flag at the courthouse.
