Art Walk set tonight
POCATELLO -- The September Art Walk will be tonight from 5 to 8 p.m. in Old Town Pocatello at participating locations.
In addition to the fine art and demonstrations exhibited throughout the walk, also enjoy listening to the music of SwingShift at the First Friday Coffeehouse at the pavilion. The concert will run from 6:30 to 9 p.m., and admission is free but you can give a free-will donation to support Southeast Idaho Community Action Agency. The Shady Lady, 655 N. Arthur, new work by Ron Lewis. Piccolo Gallery, 501 N. Main St., longtime resident Gale Sherman will show watercolors, colored pencil and pen and ink originals and prints.
Pocatello Art Center, 444 N. Main St., unveiling of Chief Pocatello painting by Tal Sampson. Old Town Actors' Studio, 427 N. Main St., stop by and visit the newly renovated theater and stay for improvisational comedy beginning at 8 p.m.
Mustard Seed Dreams, 362 N. Main St., knit scarves and hats by Molly Hale. Le Jardin, 257 N. Main, stained glass pieces by Christina Torrence.
Walrus and Carpenter Books, 251 N. Main St., photography by Stormy Aitken and music by Ed Bala and Bender. Sheep Shop, 134 N. Main St., featuring acrylic by Ivan Fonseca and sterling silver jewelry by Mona Knoblich.
Studio 118 N. Main St., featuring Cheryle Ann Mueller with forged wire and bead earrings and Ellery Maughan with Idaho wildflower cards. Kane Building, 315 W. Center St., displaying art by Stan Gates.
Healing Foods, 357 W. Center St., will feature photography by Jessica Thon-Ralph. Syringa Wireless inside Station Square, featuring art by students at Holy Spirit School.
Mind Your Body Wellness Studio, 234 S. Main St., will feature cosmetic art by Erin Ricken. Portneuf Valley Brewing, 615 S. First Ave., Gloria Parker will be the featured artist.
Cedar Health Center, 427 N. Arthur Ave., Pocatello, will present a special showing of the works of Kathy Torgeson Murdock from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Mental Health office of Cedar Health Center in honor of National Suicide Prevention Week Sept. 7-14. A light dinner will be provided. The First Friday Art Walk is an ongoing celebration of art every first Friday of the month. Additional locations may be open along the route.
