After school program offered
POCATELLO -- Girls on the Run of Southeastern Idaho is now taking registration for the fall 2008 session.

The program is offered at area schools as an after-school program in School District 25's Community Education program. It meets twice a week for seven weeks, with days varying, depending on the school and volunteer coaches' availability.

Cost to take part in the program is $40, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Girls on the Run is for girls ages 8 to 14. It combines training for a 3.1-mile running event with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts. The purpose of the program is to encourage positive social, emotional, mental character and physical development through female mentors/coaches in a girl-positive environment.

The program prepares girls to complete a 5K run/walk at all fitness levels.
To register or for more information, call Tracy McCulloch at 239-5250 or Michelle Butterfield at 239-5207.
