A big time bike ride
POCATELLO -- A local man and his cycling partner won their division in the Seventh Annual Trans-Rockies Challenge, a mountain bike race that traverses the rugged Canadian Kootenay Rockies region of British Columbia over seven days and nearly 600 kilometers.

Ryon Butterfield, 36, of Pocatello, and Jon Gould, 44, of Boise, won the Open Men's 80+ category in the Aug. 10-16 race from Invermere to Fernie, B.C., defeating 67 other teams from around the globe. The category required the team members' combined ages to be at least 80.
