Mountain Man Rendezvous set
WEST YELLOWSTONE, Mont. (AP) _ The annual Smoking Waters Mountain Man Rendezvous & 1800s Living History encampment will be held Friday, Aug. 1, through Sunday, Aug. 10, in the Gallatin National Forest near West Yellowstone.
The 1800s-era camp will be open to the public every day from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., featuring entertainment, demonstrations, seminars on trades and crafts of the times, storytelling, trading, beading, leatherwork, knife and tomahawk throw, bow shooting and atlatl demonstrations. The events are free, although the black-powder shoot on Saturday, Aug. 9, at 9 a.m. requires that shooters register and pay $10 apiece. Other events and times will be posted daily at the camp.
