The Blackfoot Performing Arts Center will open their summer season with the a cappella singing sensations ''Voice Male'' on June 7 at 7:30 pm. This group is comprised of six handsome, extremely talented and engaging young men. They have captured the attention of many people in this area. Susan Mann, programming director of BPAC, says ''If you loved the performance in February of Alley Cats, you are going to love Voice Male. Their style is very similar. This will be a great show for the entire family.'' Tickets are available by calling BPAC at 317-55008 or Tweedy's Music. Ticket prices are $10.00 for adults and $7.00 for students.

Voice Male has been performing since 1994 when they began with nine young men at UtahStateUniversity. In the fall of 1996 the nine became the current six. Although they all started out in Utah they now live in Utah, Alabama, and South Carolina. The group is composed of John Luthy (percussion/bass), Mike Willson (bass), Phil Kesler (baritone), John Huff (baritone), Mike Bearden (tenor), and Richard McAllister (high tenor). During the years they have enjoyed singing for a variety of groups, corporate events, and concerts. They are known for their smooth harmonies, amazing percussions, and quirky humor.
Voice Male's style of singing is what's known as ''contemporary a cappella.'' Their music that would traditionally be played by a band, but they perform all the instruments with their voices. The group sings mostly pop music from the latter half of the twentieth century. They also are known to perform humorous songs including country, barbershop, and old-fashioned melodies.
