Seminar to address intellectual property, small business legal and start-up issues on May 15

Lee Dillion to discuss wide range of topics of interest to entrepreneurs

Pocatello, Idaho ( HYPERLINK "http://www.cob.isu.edu" www.cob.isu.edu) – The Pocatello office of the Idaho Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will conduct a legal clinic for entrepreneurs and small business owners on Thursday, May 15 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the conference room at the center at 1651 Alvin Ricken Drive in Pocatello.

There is no admission charge but reservations are required.

Lee Dillion, J.D., external programs director for the University of Idaho College of Law, will lead the program. Topics include:

General business start-up issues

Selection of consultants

Entity formation issues, such as entity types, ownership and voting rights, financial obligations and rights and admission and removal of owners

Third party issues, such as lenders, customers and suppliers, asset leasing and purchasing, and human resources considerations

Intellectual property, including general concepts, trademarks and business names, copyrights, patents and licensing and franchising.

Dr. Dillion will also be available by appointment for individual consultations with seminar attendees on May 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon.

Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Dillion was engaged in a private legal practice that emphasized business organization and planning, business and real estate acquisitions, health law, and general commercial law. He is a University of Illinois graduate and received his J.D. degree from the University of Chicago.
