SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A man was shot dead in his Salt Lake City apartment during an apparent home-invasion robbery early today.

Police have released few details in the case but described the shooting as a home-invasion. Police also said there was a party earlier in the night.

A neighbor, Wendy Mitchell, said she looked out of her bedroom window and saw the man's daughter trying to resuscitate the man in the living room of the apartment. Mitchell said one of her sons reported hearing a single gunshot.

Mitchell said it was common for people to come and go from the apartment but that there were no extra cars parked near the three-unit brick complex when she got home about 11:30 p.m. or when the victim's daughter's screaming awoke her.
