ISU names research VP
POCATELLO - Following a nationwide search that began last year, Idaho State University hired a vice president of research this week.
Pamela Crowell, the associate dean for research and graduate education at the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis School of Science, is slated to start on July 1 at ISU. Crowell will replace ISU's interim Vice President of Research Larry Ford, who was also a finalist for the job. Ford was appointed to the temporary position last year. ''Professor Crowell is an accomplished researcher with an excellent pedigree,'' ISU President Arthur Vailas said in a press release. ''She is experienced in research management in a university environment that has a strong health and medical mission.''
Crowell earned her Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin, located in Madison, in 1988 and received her bachelor of arts degree in chemistry from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minn., in 1981. ''I share President Vailas' vision for advancing ISU research, and I look forward to working with faculty, students and staff in that endeavor,'' Crowell said in the press release.
