Twin Falls mural to grow
42.563181;-114.460278

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) _ A southern Idaho painter says he has a concept in mind for expanding the mural at the Magic Valley Regional Airport that honors the nation's war veterans.

This time, Kimberly artist Gary Stone says he wants to expand the 42-foot mural another 18 feet to commemorate soldiers that have died in fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Stone introduced his plans this week to the airport's advisory board and expects to begin his work soon.

The mural at Joslin Field has drawn national attention and private, public and corporate donations that have enabled Stone to periodically add more scenes.
He began work on the piece in 1995.

He says the expansion could also allow space to inscribe the names of veterans still alive or injured in battle.
