Adopt a shelter dog
POCATELLO - October is Adopt a Dog Month, and the Pocatello Animal Shelter has joined with the American Humane Association to promote adoption of dogs.

The program promotes dog adoptions from animal shelters and provides the community with information about responsible pet care.

Dogs are recognized as providing health benefits for humans. However, adopting a dog is a serious commitment, and the Pocatello Animal Shelter warns those interested in adopting a dog must be prepared to love and take care of the animal. Dogs need the basic requirements of water, food, shelter and health care. They also need exercise and companionship, shelter officials say.
To adopt a dog, visit the Pocatello or Chubbuck Animal Shelters. For more information, call Mary Remer at the Pocatello shelter at 234-6156.
