'80s bands to rock Pocatello
POCATELLO - Next Friday, music lovers in Southeast Idaho may have a hard time choosing between concerts. That's because on Friday the 1980s metal bands Warrant and Great White will be performing at the Bannock County Fairgrounds in Pocatello and solo artist Peter Cetera will be performing at the Stephen's Performing Art Center at Idaho State University.
Peter Cetera is an award-winning singer/songwriter and former member of the band Chicago. He had 12 top 10 hits in the 1980s, including ''Hard Habit to Break,'' ''Along Comes a Woman,'' and ''Next Time I Fall,'' a duet with Christian artist Amy Grant. Great White hit the mainstream in 1987 with their album ''Once Bitten.'' Some of their major hits include ''Rock Me,'' ''Save Your Love,'' and ''Once Bitten Twice Shy.'' All five remaining original members of the band will be performing.
Warrant is best known for their songs such as ''Cherry Pie,'' ''Down Boys,'' and Uncle Tom's Cabin.'' Their first album was released in 1989. The Peter Cetera show will begin at 7 p.m. and the doors open at 6 p.m. For tickets to the Peter Cetera concert, go to www.eastidahoconcerts.com or go to Budget Tapes and Records in Pocatello or CD World in Idaho Falls. The cost for tickets are $63 and up. It is being sponsored by Visual Sound Productions, KLCE 97, and Ez Mortgage.
